NSWCPS Maroon Award - Football
This year Catholic Schools New South Wales established the Maroon Awards to acknowledge the outstanding achievements of primary students in each sport across NSW (Polding and MacKillop).
This year Jimmi was awarded the Maroon Award for Football. Jimmi was identified by the Polding and MacKillop Football Coaches as a more than worthy recipient. The blurb below was used by NSWCPS to acknowledge Jimmi's achievements.
Jimmi has demonstrated exceptional skills in football throughout 2023, representing both the Polding and NSWPSSA teams. His valuable contribution to the Polding team, which secured a commendable 6th place at the NSWPSSA Championship in Nelson Bay, showcased his prowess on the field.
A standout sportsman, Jimmi proudly represents his school, St Carthage’s Lismore, across a diverse range of sports. He earned a well-deserved spot in the NSWPSSA Football Team, which achieved a remarkable 2nd place at the School Sport Australia National Championships in Thornbury, Victoria.
In 2023, Jimmi extended his representation to the Lismore diocese in both football and athletics, and he was a key member of the Polding football team. Notably, he also contributed to the Gold Coast Knights team's international journey to England, where they competed against football giants such as Manchester City, Manchester United, Everton, and Liverpool.
Despite his high level of skill and achievements across a wide range of sports, Jimmi stands out for his respectful and inclusive participation in school sports. His leadership qualities shine through as he ensures the involvement and participation of all his peers on the field.
In light of his outstanding contributions to football and sportsmanship, Jimmi is a highly deserving recipient of the 2023 NSWCPS Maroon Award for Football.
